Oh well we’ll just get better. Like Barnett, Jones and a stud Juco(maybe Jonathan Mathis) to go along with jeremiah Jackson.

Any idea who he is looking at instead? What do you think our chances are that he will still choose the Hogs?
By RazorbackRed on Nov 5, 2009 @ 1:30pm
No reason given? Or has he seen an increase in recruiting attention and now thinks he can do better?
If he hasn’t seen that we’re a team on the rise and will be in the national picture in the next couple of years, he’s not ever going to see it.

i’m just going to tell myself b jones and c barnett are getting ready to be brought in the fold and he didn’t want to be DT #4 in our recruiting class.

Richard,
Any idea why? Is it because of players Arkansas is looking to bring in?
I usually don’t think a player that is committed notices much of that especially when players that may or may not be brought in are unknown and uncommitted for the most part.
By BoutDemHogs on Nov 5, 2009 @ 2:02pm
Oh also Richard. Is he saying Arkansas is out of the mix now completely? Or that he is just re-opening his recruiting and going to look around some?
You guys don’t think this could be because some kind of word of changes on our defensive staff is being spread around by opposing coaches or anything like that do you?
I know recruiting gets nasty. With our defensive stats the way they are some opposing coaches may be doing just that by trying to create uncertainty in if our staff will be the same or not. As a player I think that they should (1) not pay attention to the dirty tactics opposing recruiters use and (2) see our defenses weaknesses as an opportunity to come in and make an impact and contribute early.

I say retract the offer. Didn’t he confirm last week that he was ’solid’ with Arkansas? I wouldn’t have patience for that type of BS.

I love my HOGS but if I were being recruited for defense I would be hesitant to give my pledge with the HOGS. Especially if I were the type reading message boards. Most of the posters on HOG boards give these kids NO reason to want to commit here. Who will the DC be? Will it be Willy? Is it his scheme? Lack of talent? That type thing being on the board constantly WILL make some of these kids look elsewhere.

Mike, If the Coaching Staff adopted that way of thinking look at the players we would miss out on. ie: Darius Winston

IF a player gives his word (committment) to the Hogs and then backs out..there has to be a reason…grades, scheme of the team as to how he would fit int etc. However…I am about tired of those that are yes, no,yes, no and maybe….either you are or you are not a Hog.
This is not a direct reference to Brown, it is about every one that does this junk.

It seems that Hawgsillustrated has a better grasp on who is and who is not really commited than other sites. They showed Brown as a soft verbal even after he swore he was ALL HOG ….

I’ve had a bad feeling about Brown for a while now.
Hopefully Barnett comes on board, and the other DL commits stay committed.

If he doesn’t want to be a Razorback that is okay. There are plenty others who do. Go Hogs!

Petrino and staff are starting to make Nutt and crew look like good recruiters. We won’t have any D linemen, but we’re going to have 15 wideouts and 10 outside linebackers/safeties.

It’s painful sifting through all the ‘we didn’t want the guy anyway’ type of posts this inevitably brings out.
Grow up people, the sky isn’t falling everytime something like this happens, and nobody personally insulted you or your university of choice.
There may well be reasons for something like this beyond what’s evident based on the bare facts available, and it’s all really irrelevant before NSD anyway. No need to bash ANY player who may end up playing for us, OR who may want to and finds that they don’t have a spot.

Hi, everybody, I just read on scout.com that Beachum is visiting Michigan and scout has him as a soft verbal now. I haven’t heard of this before. If any one knows anything more, I would love to know.
By kromekote4020 on Nov 5, 2009 @ 6:45pm
Has anyone seen the QB from Fort Smith Northside play? If so how big is he?
By Big Boi on Nov 5, 2009 @ 7:38pm
Richard,
Can you also comment on Beachum aka “Big Tex”. Scout has some stories about him looking at Michigan.
By BoutDemHogs on Nov 5, 2009 @ 8:35pm
It looks like Beachum has taken a big interest in Michigan. They’ve always had a pretty good relationship with the coaches in that area of Texas, so there could be a connection there.
Scout had the UofA listed as a “soft verbal” and Michigan as a “high interest”.
There was also an article on his profile that mentioned his high school coach saying he thought Michigan had a legitamate shot at land him.
Let’s all keep our fingers crossed he doesn’t switch. I really like this recruit.

Let’s hope he does a Jermaine Brooks sans the drug/gun charges: gets off the plane, realizes how cold it is, and sign with Arkansas.
