Mack pumped about visit
October 30, 2009 – 11:25 amFlorida linebacker Montaque Mack will join teammate Marquel Wade on an official visit to Arkansas this weekend.
Mack, 6-2, 190, 4.7 of Jacksonville Andrew Jackson high school is receiving interest from Florida Atlantic, Iowa State, Colorado State, East Carolina, Duke, Georgetown and others.
“Coach Paul Petrino has told me Arkansas is a very good program and I’m excited to go up there and see what it’s like at Arkansas,” said Mack, who reports a 3.3 GPA “He said they like my speed on film and how I find the ball and I have a high motor.”
Mack, who has three receptions at tight end, will be visiting the state of Arkansas for the first time.
“I’m really excited,” said Mack has recorded about 60 tackles “I’ve never been to Arkansas. I’ve been on the computer for the last week looking and trying research Arkansas. I want to meet the coaches and be a part of the program.”
Mack and Wade have a very tight friendship.
“Quel and I have known one another since the sixth grade,” Mack said. “It’s honor for me to go up there with Quel. He’s like my brother.”
After football, Mack hopes to be an athletic trainer.
“I was looking at their website and they’re actually known for athletic training,” said Mack of Arkansas.
Mack likes to offer some friendly advice to his ailing teammates.
“I do my own treatment with them, I’ll say ‘hey man stretch out.’” Mack said laughing.

My favorite part of the article is that he made an academic connection to the U of A. That the program has a reputation from an academic aspect that is an area he is interested it.
Good to see some kids thinking about that type of thing, not just the football team but the University as a whole.
