  1. Whoopdy doo. K State will offer lots of guys they have no shot at.

  2. Are you drunk?

    By Ron Mexico on Oct 24, 2009 @ 8:04pm

  3. No, are you? How many players in Arkansas have ever signed with K State? That program is now on a par with Iowa State.

  4. Clarke didn’t play in the Red-White game. At least he didnt’ show up in ths box score. Anyone know why?

  5. Clarke and Sanchez have minor injuries. Clarke is expected to return to practice this week. Sanchez has a foot problem and could be out longer.

  6. Also, at the Red-White game (yes I was there with about 1,000 other die hard fans), We look a little thicker and better defensively. Powell will contribute right away. He has the best basketball skills since Joe Johnson.

  7. In order to protect my nerves this year and especially since I screamed my heart out during the Ole Sis game…I am going to take a wait and see attitude on the Hogs basketball season. I have no clue as to who is great, mediocer or poor as fast as basketball talent goes. (being that I am only 5′8″ tall and about 60 years old)
I love my Razorbacks, but I need to wait put the emotions on hold and hope for the best. Being realistic never hurt…GO HOGS

  8. I am beginning to think that the refs in this conference are secretly pulling for Florida Gators and Alabama Crimson Tide to win all their games. How else do you explain all the favorable calls in their favors?

  9. Ima Hawgs, I am very excited about Powell. I really liked his range according to the box score going 2-4 fron beyond the arc. How did you think he looked? What did you think about Bryant and the JUCO transfers?

Will the transfer from Iowa be eligible this year or next year?

    By Daniel M. on Oct 26, 2009 @ 3:32pm

  10. Good job to Kiehl. Give Arkansas a Super Blue Chip player for 2011. We need top recruits.

    By Bryant on Oct 26, 2009 @ 4:03pm

  11. Daniel M.,

I believe the transfer from Iowa your refering to is Jeff Peterson.
He won’t be eligible until next season.

I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about the ability of M. Powell.
He has the size of Corliss Williamson with some serious skills.
It would be something to see another terrific athlete like Corliss in a Razorback uniform again. We shall see.
I hope Bryant is able to contribute early as well. He’s a little more like a Derek Hood type of athlete from everything i’ve heard about him. A high jumping, shot blocking, rebounding, and hard dunking type of player.
I’m really looking forward to watching these guys.

  12. Kool-aid anyone?

    By OKOFCOURSE on Oct 26, 2009 @ 4:21pm

  13. That’s right, I forgot Peterson’s name.

Didn’t Bryant have something like 200 blocks last season? I think Richard mentioned a national recruiting analyst alling him a pogo stick refering to his energy and the way he elevates at both ends of the court.

I’ve got plenty of kool-aid if anyone needs some.

    By Daniel M. on Oct 26, 2009 @ 5:10pm

  14. No Kool Aid here, just the facts ma’am. Arkansas will have a hard time getting to 8-8 in the SEC. However, there are some building blocks. And, Fortson/Washington is a good combo. You can make a big turnaround with a couple of players in BBall. No question Powell can make a difference with his basketball skills. I was not that impressed with the other newcomers except for the hustle and defense. Bryant and Delvon Johnson will help provide depth along the frontline, but don’t expect anything more. Jemal Farmer needs to contribute but looked a little lost. He does have the size and athleticism for a guard. Peterson was not impressive at all and Nobles was marginal. You can’t read too much into a scrimmage game but I think we’ll be competitive and have a much better team chemistry. Who knows, the SEC will be better but we might squeak into the NCAA with a .500 conference record.

  15. Oh, Powell is NO Corliss Williamson. But I believe he will be very good.

    By Ima Hawg on Oct 26, 2009 @ 5:50pm

  16. I read a BB mag and it predicted 6 SEC teams in the tournament (Kentucky, Tenn, Ole Miss, MSU, Vandy and SC) with 4 going to the NIT Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn and Florida) and Georgia and LSU staying home.

  17. let him go to k-state,he did,t look that good when he played during the shilo-greenwood game, when the rush was on he could,nt handle the preasure.

    By butch sterling on Oct 26, 2009 @ 7:01pm

  18. take your greenwood propaganda elsewhere. you guys are the biggest homers.

you’re a good football program for High school but you do not trump the University of Arkansas just to make greenwood look better.

    take your venom elsewhere.
