Another Hogan on the Hill?
July 3, 2009 – 6:03 pmOne prospect, linebacker/safety Kolby Hogan is hoping to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a Razorback. His father, Floyd lettered at Arkansas from 1973-74 as a safety and was drafted in the 9th round by the Cleveland Brown in 1975.
Hogan, 6-2, 215, 4.70 of Big Sandy, (Tx.) Harmony will be attending Arkansas’ senior camp on July 19.
“I want to do my best and make a good impression on the coaches,” Floyd said.
Floyd, who is receiving interest from Arkansas, Baylor, TCU, SMU, Stephen F. Austin, La-Monroe and North Texas, recorded 156 tackles, 4 recovered fumbles, 1 fumble recovery for a touchdown and scored a touchdown as a running back on offense last year. He and his father traveled to Fayetteville last season to attend the Alabama game.
“It would be pretty awesome for me to be able to play there because my dad went there,” said Floyd, who reports a 300-pound bench press and 450 squat. “They’re a good school and he’s told me a lot about them. It would be awesome to follow my dad’s footsteps and go there”.

I remember Floyd Hogan, the dad, as being one of my favorite players growing up. Paricularly a play where he lept over a wide receiver making an interception where and flipping upside down in the process. Not sure why I remember it. Floyd Hogan was a great player.

Kolby is one of the most gifted high school prospects we have trained at Competitive Edge Sports. Whoever he ends up playing for will have a tremendous blocking back (offense) or a outstanding saftey/linebacker.
He is a lot bigger tht his dad. Those who remember Floyd will recall he would knock your head off…his son is a chip off the block. He is a great student, a gifted singer, a stud in track…but he plays football like he is mad at the guy who carries the ball. I hope you Arkansas folks get to see him play!
