  1. Hi everyone.

Great news! Hefley is considered to be a darned good prospect, and at 6′5/250, he’s got perfect size for the TE position.

    WPS!

    By Portie on Jun 16, 2009 @ 1:05pm

  2. I think I remember his teammate saying he was waiting for ou to offer. I guess they’re not going to. Awesome. Welcome aboard, Brad.

    By MRPRFCT on Jun 16, 2009 @ 1:34pm

  3. THIS IS GREAT!!! He is a very good prospect.

Brad welcome to the Razorback Family!!

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 2:17pm

  4. I wonder if he is going to be a LB or TE

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 2:39pm

  5. A few sources project him as a LB is why I said that.

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 2:40pm

  6. So Lucas and Nick Demien are the two Missouri prospects we are still recruiting now that we have commits from Hefley and Rainey. Any word on those other two?

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 2:51pm

  7. We are no longer recruiting Hill?

    By MRPRFCT on Jun 16, 2009 @ 2:54pm

  8. Oh forgot about Hill. He probably wants to join Ronnie. We will have to see how that works out.

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 3:21pm

  9. 6 scholarships with about 14 left to go. When are we gonna start getting the 4-5 star national recruits you were saying we’re gonna get, Blake?

    By MRPRFCT on Jun 16, 2009 @ 4:17pm

  10. I said those are the players I want and we have a ton of them on the board. Never said that was all we were going to get. You really get old to talk to. Its like talking to a dog.

Regardless why dont you look down the list and see all the players we have on the board. Do your own homework Im not going to do it for you.

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 4:38pm

  11. 1 of the current six is a 4 star.. and one or two more of the current six I personally believe will be promoted to 4 star by the end of their senior seasons.

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 4:39pm

  12. Blake, you cant argue with a person who had an IQ 121 in the 8th grade.

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 4:49pm

  13. Hefley will start out at TE. He will be a Andrew Davie type TE.

    By hoglock on Jun 16, 2009 @ 4:51pm

  14. I thought it was 131? ;^)

    By Hawgfan100 on Jun 16, 2009 @ 4:52pm

  15. Welcome Home Mr. Hefley ! :P

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 4:52pm

  16. Ok, an IQ of 131 in the 8th grade.

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 4:54pm

  17. Thank goodness someone sane is here to talk to. I think I was about to lose my mind!

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 4:58pm

  18. I’m not insane, Blake. This looks like an HDN class, not a recruiting-nationally-unlike-the-old-regime class. That’s all I’m saying.

    By MRPRFCT on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:03pm

  19. It has 6 people in it and we are nowhere near February. How can you say it looks like a HDN class??

    By Razorhog on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:05pm

  20. No it really does not. Go to the Rebels rivals website and ours and tell me when you look at the commit lists what you see different. Ill wait for you to get back.

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:06pm

  21. You always go there though. Always HDN this or that. It is so old man. You keep that argument alive all by yourself. Honestly who cares? HDN? Is he still alive?

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:06pm

  22. Doesn’t matter this class isn’t sneaking into the Top 25. This may not be a Ole Miss class but it sure aint a Tenn, Bama, Auburn, LSU class

    Man Arkansas Razorbacks stink!

    By Nigur on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:10pm

  23. Anyways… Ron Hefley committing is a great addition. Seems like things are really rolling and we have more and more to talk about. This coming right after Jackson’s commitment also. Another Huge one. Between Jackson, Hefley, and Smith we have three players right there they have the size speed and talent to help us on the Defensive line or front seven depending where they are put.

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:11pm

  24. That was supposed to be directed to you Ron. Looks like I called Hefley Ron Hefley just then..oops

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:11pm

  25. LOL, it’s ok. I agree Hefley is a great pickup !
I like his size at TE. I hope he has soft hands.
    BTW, Who was HDN? ;)

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:16pm

  26. HDN class at Arkansas. It most certainly does too.

    By MRPRFCT on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:18pm

  27. I dunno. I guess the memory escapes me.

The description I like about Hefley the most is that he is described as playing with a nasty streak. His numbers are very good and his size is nice. His recruiting was actually starting to pick up alot in the Big12 where he got most his offers. I am sure he will get more even though he is committed to the Hogs as the year goes on.

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:19pm

  28. Ho Down National class?

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:20pm

  29. Im excited. I didnt even see the Hefley and Jackson commits coming.

I saw the Uekman and Smith ones because of what they had said about their being almost certain and probably pulling the trigger.

Who do you believe is next everyone?

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:24pm

  30. Yes he will, Especially since he committed !
I think if Dyer commits to us he will get hit hard by everybody else.

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:25pm

  31. I think when Dyer makes his decision whether it is AR or elsewhere. We will also start to see some more commits. We have a number of RB recruits that are probably waiting to see which way that goes.

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:28pm

  32. Yes we do

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:41pm

  33. Well I gotta run to the house. Ill check here in a bit and see if there has been any more good news.

    By blake on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:52pm

  34. ok

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:54pm

  35. Wps!.. I bet the Missouri fan base is not happy with the Razorbacks!..

    By B-Dubz on Jun 16, 2009 @ 5:56pm

  36. I did hear this today. Dakota Mosley did make it to the Ark camp last weekend for 1 day. Trey Biddy said he was pretty impressive ! He worked really hard too. He has dropped his 40 time to 4.8 which is really good for 265 lbs. I honestly believe if he didnt want to be a hog so bad he wouldn’t have even showed up !
    There is hope yet !

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 6:00pm

  37. Right on. Was that on drive time sports, Ron?

    By MRPRFCT on Jun 16, 2009 @ 6:03pm

  38. I read an article saying our 4-star recruit is open to other offers though.

    By hogice on Jun 16, 2009 @ 6:12pm

  39. yes it was MR P

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 6:19pm

  40. hogice, The only 4* recriut we have is Cam Feldt and he is not looking around. Just this week he said he is still a SOLID commit.

If your gonna post that stuff please include the link. Thanks ! :)

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 6:23pm

  41. The current commits will ascend in the rankings as their game film, season performance, camps etc.. start to make their rounds.

    atleast 4 of the 6 will be 4 Star’s before 2/3/10.

    By Kevin on Jun 16, 2009 @ 6:52pm

  42. Is Hefley a DE with his forty time (4.9)? Put ten pounds on him and he seems like he could be easily.

    By Jay on Jun 16, 2009 @ 6:56pm

  43. I agree with ya Kevin. :)

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 6:56pm

  44. Jay, where did you see a 4.9 ?

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 6:57pm

  45. Also he is listed as a MLB and TE

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 16, 2009 @ 7:03pm

  46. Hello everyone! Hefley appears to be a very solid addition to this class. What I think is great is his versatility, and he could play a number of possible positions for the Hogs. I trust that the coaching staff will find the place that best suits his talent and helps the team. I also think that it is great how the coaches are continuing to pull talent out of Missouri, a Big 12 state that was barely tapped into by the previous coaching staff. The only players that I can remember the previous staff landing from there were Desmond Sims and Mark Bokerman.
In addition, the staff is onto the other three players (Hill, Demien, and Lucas), and it would be really nice to get them all, although that would be unlikely. But I think that by kicking open the door into Missouri, in addition to the strides made into Oklahoma, it proves that the staff has a great recruiting base and does not have to venture far to land a good portion of the class (Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana). But it is also great that they are landing great players from N. Carolina and Alabama also, and should land a few more good ones from other distant places like Florida.

    By SOUTHARKHOGFAN on Jun 16, 2009 @ 8:50pm

  47. There is a pattern that continues from last year. No short players. 6′2, 6′2, 6′4, 6′5, 6′5, 6′5. This allows for weight gain with muscle. Very few short light players on the Hogs radar.

    By hoginflatland on Jun 16, 2009 @ 9:00pm

  48. Ron

That’s what his profile in Rivals says. Maybe he’ll go to camp and run better this summer. Hope so.

    By Jay on Jun 16, 2009 @ 9:18pm

  49. hey mrprfct, Is your real name Micheal and are you from Stuttgart? Just curious.

By joe (not my real name) on Jun 16, 2009 @ 9:18pm

  50. It would explain alot or maybe your name is tim.

By joe (not my real name) on Jun 16, 2009 @ 9:20pm

  51. No.

    By MRPRFCT on Jun 16, 2009 @ 9:57pm

  52. Hefley told otis he ran a 4.86. Here’s a good article on Hefley. Sorry if it’s been posted

    By MooMoo on Jun 16, 2009 @ 10:58pm

  53. wow! Love that evaluation by espn. Now that’s a football player. Wish they’d move him to the DL.

    By MRPRFCT on Jun 17, 2009 @ 6:21am

  54. Thanks MooMoo. From reading that I think I would rather see him as a DE. A year in the weight room and he will be to big for LB. As TE he will be a load for LB’s and Safety’s to bring down, and it sounds like downfield blocking for Joe and the stable of RB’s just got better. Joe Adams and DJ will be All SEC this year.

    By Hemi-Hog on Jun 17, 2009 @ 7:34am

  55. I tend to agree with MRPRFCT..if this Arkansas team is going to move up to a BCS regular in the polls, then 3 stars just wont get it. The top teams get the 5 & 4 stars on a regular basis. I am not impatient, but unless Petrino is a magician, he needs the very best top quality players…on the other hand…what do I know? one class like the one we just signed will not get us in the top ten.

By hog fan in florida on Jun 17, 2009 @ 12:21pm

  56. Ron in Jordon,

Cam Feldt is the one I am talking about. I read it on wholehogsports.com, or arkansas rivals, or arkansas scout, because those are the only 3 I read. The article said he was open. If they kept old articles, I would have posted the link. I am not a subscriber. Sorry I touched a nerve on you cheerleaders that accept reality ever. Get a life!!! Maybe you can ask your hero that is in charge of this blog.

    By hogice on Jun 17, 2009 @ 7:47pm

  57. This is the first I’ve heard of Cam Feldt ever being open on his recruiting. I do know that he made another trip somewhere recently, but had also stated that he was still very commited to the UofA. I’ve never heard the word “open” being connected to any of his recruiting articles, and I’ve read all of them as well.

Maybe I need a life. That way, I can get in touch with reality.

    By GonzoHog on Jun 17, 2009 @ 8:45pm

  58. Who are you refering too when you say Hero?

By Ron in Jordan on Jun 17, 2009 @ 11:17pm

  59. Everything I have seen has Cam Feldt firmly committed at Arkansas. Is there something goiong on here?

    By bigfoot on Jun 17, 2009 @ 11:38pm

  60. hogice, it’s good that you got home safely from happy hour…they seem to have shot specials at the bar you frequent.

    By RazorRandy on Jun 18, 2009 @ 12:05am

  61. Cam Feldt visited Texas Tech. His dad went there. He stated he was committed to Arkansas after that. He restated that he was committed to Arkansas at Petrino’s camp.

    By MooMoo on Jun 18, 2009 @ 7:52pm

  62. Cam Feldt said again thursday on the shawn and wally show he was coming to be a hog. sounds done to me. jackson amoung the top 30 DT in american pretty good I would say. How many of us now enough about North Carolina football to judge its talent.

    By jacflash on Jun 27, 2009 @ 1:47pm

  63. jacflash,

I’m no expert on North Carolina football, but in recent years, their football probably rates a little bit higher overall than Arkansas’s does on a yearly basis, so with that being said, I’d say that only leaves the clasification in which the player plays in to be discussed.
There are great players at every level of competition within a state, but usually it’s the higher classifications that hold the most talent.
I think Bobby Petrino does a fantastic job of evaluating talent around the country. I don’t say that just because he virtually roams the entire country looking for talent. I say it because eventually with the ties he makes with coaches/schools/states, and with the pipelines he opens by getting a few commits from places that are virtually unknown to the UofA, it will lead to greater things in the future.
