Hog fervor understood in Moss household now
January 2, 2009 – 6:00 amOn Tuesday, I wrote about Arkansas football commitment Austin Moss’ tree climbing uncle, Steve Moss.
Moss’ wife, Morna, spoke about catching her husband up in a tree while listening to the Razorback football game early in their marriage. When he was unable to get good reception on his radio, Steve would climb 25-28 feet to improve his listening pleasure.
“He was such a Hog fanatic,” Morna said. “Before each game he would get so nervous, just like he was a player. After the game and the Hogs won it would like heaven around the house but if they lost he would mourn for days.”
Mrs. Moss soon found out that her husband was a loner while the Razorbacks were playing.
“When the game was on and if I had gone somewhere and come back to the house he didn’t want me to talk to him or anything during the game,” she said “It was a sacred a moment to him and I thought ‘What in the world have I married? This man is crazy.’”
Morna recalls her first Razorback game.
“Everyone was yelling Sooie Pig all over the stadium,” she said. “I thought these people are crazy. I had never, never seen so much enthusiasm in all my life. Of course I got use to it and now I have an Arkansas sweatshirt.”

Did anyone hear Tom Lemming refer to Michael Dyer as the next “Barry Sanders?” I was waiting on someone else to drop the B-bomb I was being a little more careful in my comparisons. He reminds me of Micheal Turner with the way he runs, but does have balance and vision like Barry.

I didn’t see any recruits in the Under armour game but it seemed like every kid had all the National champs of the last five years in thier top five and that was it. USC got so much publicity in that game. They had a qb committ come in and just tear it up. There was a lot of talent on the field but no hogs that i saw. Pity
