Rogers gets offer

Mississippi State assistant coach J.B. Grimes called North Little Rock Coach Brad Bolding on Wednesday morning and offered a scholarship to defensive end Anthony Rogers. Rogers made an unofficial visit to Starkville last weekend.

Rogers, 6-4 1/ 2, 229 pounds, 4.9 seconds in the 40-yard dash, broke his hand during two-a-days last year and played in only five games. Still, he recorded 38 unassisted tackles, 52 assisted tackles, 4 quarterback sacks, 5 tackles for loss, 2 passes broken up, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery.

Rogers is receiving looks from Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, LSU and Ole Miss.
