Good Deal !!! Back to what I mentioned on the Wingo thread. With the qaulity of players recruited and signing in 2009 will make in-state guys becomed committed and signing much easier. They are excited and want to be a part of something great in the near future.
Mike asked for his stats: From hawgsillustrated.com….
“Dean caught 67 passes for 987 yards and 13 touchdowns in his sophomore season, earning 7A-West All-Conference honors.”
Anyone else find it absolutley hysterical that Lane Kiffin is yet to blow a whistle while wearing baby-puke orange and he put every foot in the Volunteer nation in his mouth? I’m sure the UT admins wanted to put all their feet somewhere else in his anatomy. What in the world was that dude thinking? Sounds like a pompous jerk. Think about how depressing it would be if our head coaches were Lane and Dana.
LSU game about 4:50 in the 3rd quarter. Dennis Johnson dragged down by his shirt by LSU’s Coleman. Being that he is short, his untucked shirt was hanging down about 8 inches …. A perfect handle to drag him down by. He might have gone all the way if his shirt was tucked in. Is it me or after that play shouldn’t they have had him come off and tuck his shirt in?
Kiffin also implied that the school the recruit in queston came from couldn’t be trusted to submit the paperwork properly due to influence from Florida and its staff.
I like it. This means other SEC schools will now have another coach to pick on besides Petrino.
The longer Petrino keeps his nose clean, while these other guys screw up their reputations, the better off the UofA will be.
This story will follow Lane Kiffin where ever he goes now.
Every SEC coach will use it against him in recruiting, and every recuit will have plenty of time to think about it between now and the next NSD. Thanks Lane.
Congradulations to Michael Dyer on being named EA sports first team All American. Well deserved. Like Tom Lemming said he could be the next Barry Sanders, so lets pray he becomes a hog soon.
Richard since this thread is about the future i wanted to ask about the b ball teams recruiting status. Powell Borden and Farmer all signed and Adams offered and some interest in Hall. Where do we stand on who we may try to add. I believe we have 9 players on scholarship right? and no sr players with on one. so if we add more and get to max allowed 2010 class we will only have 2 to offer and 2011 class would be even smaller. what are we going to do? i am sure my math may be off but please give a pic of what numbers we will be going for each of these years. i know we want alot of players but will we be able to have room?
As adults most of us know that all it takes to conduct your business with dignity and class is self discipline. Now what is Kiffin gonna say to the first kid that shoots his mouth off to a ref and gets a flag? If Meyers knew that the kid was at Tenn, he should not have called. In and of itself it is classless. But the call was made. Kiffen could have handled that several other ways and shown class. He’s supposed to be the seasoned adult. And we wonder why there are discipline issues? Guess
Soes someone have a list of invited and expected walk-ons? Wgat about the walk-ons from 2008? How many will remain?
I saw where Mitch Petrus was given a redshirt for this year. Is he expected back for 2009? Wasn’t he used in a pinch in 2007 as a blocking fullback? I think I remember watching him on some replays.
Kiffin seems to be the smug kid on the playground that thinks he can run his mouth because he brought his daddy to call the other kids’ daddies if they pick on him. He also made friends with the biggest kid on the block (Orgeron) so nobody will beat him up while he instigates fights.
Any word on why the U of A hasnt shown any intrest on Claude Jonson & Jonathan Frazier WR from PB…. Has some of the best hands in the state, also very physical and has the body fram of Bolding type WR
Guys did you hear David Gordon speak on radio with Davenport last nite. What a nice guy and well spoken. He spoke of his maker several times and God Blessed. He sounds like the real deal and he made it clear he was aHogs to all other programs that came after him after he committed to the Razorbacks and said NO THANKS I AM A HOGS. Classie Guy !!!!!
The fact that both Johnson and Frazier are on Rivals.com listings as Razorback potentials shows that Arkansas is in correspondence with them. So far, Arkansas has only passed out a dozen or so offers. There will be a hundred or so more in the next couple of months.
But also, in the 2011 class, from Dumas, there is a dual-threat QB, Darion Griswold, who is 6′5″ and runs a 4.6, 40. In that class are also two other QBs with very high interest, Kiehl Frazier and Brandon Allen. I think Allen is the son of the Razorback assistant coach.
Sounds like a tight end to me…
dont know enough about weather or not he is finished getting taller or not but could possibly be 6′5″ 255 4.6 by the time he grad HS…
I read the story Richard put out today in his “The Recruiting Guy” article in the Democrat-Gazzett.
Dean is listed as a 6′3″, 225 lb. WR, with 4.75 speed in the 40.
I had seen this before in the past, when Petrino offered this young man a scholorship back in Sept., but had forgotten about it until now.

By Razorman on Feb 5, 2009 @ 2:19pm
Rivals only lists the one and Scouts does not even know that he exists.

Dean was a first team EA Sports Sophomore All American… so, you know, he’s got that going for him.
By Ron Mexico on Feb 5, 2009 @ 2:36pm
He will be very highly rated. We offered him so early I remember the story on that. I am very excited he has decided he wants to be a Hog.

By Hawgfan100 on Feb 5, 2009 @ 3:13pm
Those stats set his HS record as a sophmore. That is saying something. He will get bigger, faster, and probably even taller.
That sounds crazy good to me.

What are you referring to with Lane Kiffin? What did he say to put his foot in his mouth? Catch me up…

Plays that tick me off.

Kiffin said Urban Meyer cheated during recruiting by calling a player on an official visit to TN. Which, isn’t a violation…

By HogTat on Feb 5, 2009 @ 7:22pm
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Coach Allen’s son the QB is supposed to be a player too.
By Razorflip on Feb 5, 2009 @ 7:41pm
